wow [06 Apr 2010|12:07am]
I haven't used this thing in over a year. I can't believe I remembered my password. Does anyone else still use it?

if so, here's the skinny-

I'm near the end of a 30hr/wk internship on top of my regular 40hr/wk job. So my schedule sucks. I graduate in about a month. My girlfriend (hey, have y'all met Danielle?) and I signed a lease on an awesome house in Gainesville. Hopefully I can find a job within the next couple of months.

I'm too tired to think of anything else important.

Motor and I both got haircuts recently!

Today I achieved one of those things on my "list of things to do before I die." I will not refer to it by the name of that dumb movie with the good actors.

Anyway, I joined a union. UAW Local 1821. Different job than I posted about last time. Better hours, though the early-to-bed and early-to-rise does have it's downsides.

School has started back up too, and I got a lot of papers to write. The Fest 7 was FREAKIN' AWESOME. But pretty much used up my allotment of social life for a little while.

Even if I had the time or money to go see Leatherface or Bane (a hard enough choice already) this past weekend, I woke up Saturday morning barely able to move. I must have slept wrong, my neck and shoulder were literally killing me. Feeling a bit better now.

Hopefully I can go see Murs this coming weekend, and a wedding in two weeks.

Miss you all.

Oh yeah, the election was awesome.

So I was mowing the lawn this morning, and I had an idea for a video game based on... mowing the lawn. Like a kid with a lawn service, trying to save up money. Energy bars for gas, stamina, how clogged up the mower gets... 3-D terrain, the ability to buy upgrades, etc.

Hey, there have been far more boring ideas that turned out to be good games.

Ever notice that if you a pull a rubber band a certain way, it smells like it's burning?

Today was exhausting.

To make a long story very short, I spent 6 hours at a car dealership, $400 at a vet, I haven't slept in over 24 hours, and at best I can only get 4 hours now before I go to work.

I got the internet back.

Other than that, it's been a pretty shitty week.

I'm still alive. I have a new apartment.

I have no internet right now. Not that I ever updated this thing when I did have the internet. But I intend to write more often.

I miss a good chunk of the people on my friends list. And some people who are not on LJ. And I couldn't care less about some of the people on my friends list. But not many fall into that category.

Someday, I would like to undertake some lengthy test of physical endurance and will-power. Something like hiking the entire Appalachian Trail, or swimming across the English Channel, or climbing to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Probably not Kilimanjaro, because it seems a little too easy, and Africa is full of AIDS.

had a fun weekend. I witnessed giant turtle rape, and enjoyed several rounds of my favorite Anheuser-Busch product: roller coasters. Ate thai food, saw my dad for the first time in a few months, took Motor to the doggy park, got to hang out with my lovely girlfriend, briefly saw Erica and Alena, bought some records, and got ingredients to make a couple new batches of homebrewed beer. I probably did something else recently too that deserves mentioning, but I need a nap before work. I miss you all, call me.

Also, I decided on a loose concept for a country album. Now I just need to learn to play guitar, and get more comfortable singing outside of my car or shower. Luckily, Cara has finally consented to letting me wear a cowboy hat.

I don't think I will be able to go to any of The Fest, which makes me a little sad, but I'm probably gonna go see The Decemberists in Atlanta (85% certainity). I gotta start watchin' my money a little closer, but I can swing it.

ALSO- IMPORTANT--

Still need a roommate. See previous post, and call/comment/email/myspace me for more details.

Matt and I need a new rooommate. [11 Oct 2006|09:12pm]
Chris is moving out. It would be optimal if you could sign a new lease with us by the end of this month, with your first rent due on December 1st.

It would be $255 a month, utilities are usually pretty low. I have a dog, and sometimes we brew beer here. Sometimes bands on tour sleep on our floor.

I can't think of any other info right now, talk to me.

I want to play The Oregon Trail soon. Something reminded me of it today, and I thought of a bunch of things I never did back when I was a kid that would be smart moves. Like I should always buy an axel ASAP because those suckers always break, then you are stranded until you can fix it or buy a new one. I bet I'd also be better at hunting now. I could never beat the game as a kid (combination of dying or having ot leave the computer lab before I got to my goal), but I bet I could do it now. I'm sure I can easily find somewhere online to download the original version. It seems like a game they'd have totally revamped and put out for xBox, with 3D graphics, but that's not the one I want (if that version even exists). Argh, I wanna skip work right now and just play Oregon Trail all night.

I have also recently decided that for the entire month of January 2007, I shall listen to nothing but music that came out in 2006. It will be tough limiting myself, because I will be forced to cut out many of my favorite artists, and almost entire genres. But I feel it will truly give me a proper overview of the year in music, and sort out the stand outs, the ones that will stand the test of time.

Someone better remind me about this in December.

I doubt anyone will read/care, in time, but I will be in Ocala today and tomorrow. Call me (352) 216-5379

in other news, I've been drinking a lot of grape soda at work this week, so now my poop is green.

sorry I forget how to do a cut, I've seen worse space-hogging posts. [07 Jun 2006|05:27pm]
Here's my new pup. His name is Motor, and he's some kinda mutt, but part schnauzer.

Say hello Motor!

here he's playing with me and our friend's dog. I am wearing ugly ass clothes because I was in the middle of brewing beer, which can splatter.

Motor looks on as Sheba flys.

And here is my girlfriend holding Motor as my beer drains into the fermenter.

I have been incredibly busy the past week or so, whch is awesome, because it mean I'm DOING thing, trips out of town, playing with dogs, brewing beer, seeing films, hanging with my girl, etc. The only downside is that work has been like hell. I feel dead when I'm there, barely able to stay standing, my knees weak, and my head swimming. Also, since I've been training on a new machine, I can't use my iPod at work right now :(

I will be out at Fuel on Monday night, I think Ryan and Donnie will be also there. You should come too!
